From carding, warping and beaming to sizing, many areas of the textile industry are affected by static electricity which must be controlled. Each individual layer of yarn coming from a creel may even need to be neutralised to prevent ballooning and thread breaks.
Broken yarns causing lengthy rethreading, operator shocks and problems with winding or stacking finished products are all results of high static charges.
